BREAK FREE

Mediums

Colored pencils, markers, paper

Dimensions

18 inches x 12 inches

Process

This piece is based on my struggle to separate my online life and my real life, as I grew up glued to my devices in an attempt to escape my reality. Because of that, I find it hard to know what is me and what is a reflection of that past.

THE SELFISH YOUTH

1620002150_edited.jpg

Mediums

Colored pencils, paper

Process

This is a response to the irresponsibility I saw in my peers at the height of the pandemic. Here I convey my frustration with the uncaring attitude that put our elders at risk.

Dimensions

8 inches x 12 inches

HIDDEN SAFETY

Mediums

Colored pencils, paper

Dimensions

9 inches x 5.5 inches

Process

When I first came out to my family, I lacked the acceptance I wanted. I only found safety on the internet at this time, as it taught me that I was still normal. This piece is based on that relief I felt at finding the LGBT community.

NUMB SAFETY

Mediums

Oil pastels, paper

Process

Constantly being exposed to disasters worldwide eventually led me to feel desensitized to them. For that, I depict my guilt here, but also my justification for that numbness.

Dimensions

12 inches x 18 inches

THE POT AND I

Mediums

Acrylic paint, canvas paper

Dimensions

8 inches x 7.5 inches

Process

A representation of my feelings in a toxic friendship when I was younger. The slow change in our relationship made me blind to the damage until it turned destructive, like a frog slowly cooking in a boiling pot.
